I guess I am tired of TV and other media showing what they want to show. I see so much that I can't tell about - what the TV does not show in a deliberate attempt to slant the picture. This has happened before if you look at history, and it is happening again. He had attached a bunch of pics like we see regularly in Diogenesis' "Gotta See This" posts and such.
I have talked to soldiers who just came back - they are proud of what they are doing to liberate Iraq. They know it will take time. They knew they would be there for 1 year tours. They were told by the military leaders While the enemies of freedom are clever, developing new tactics, we have seen American and British (they are standing beside us - this first picture is of a Brit) ingenuity overmatch the enemy's capability. We are adapting and overcoming on a daily basis.
Estimates by soldiers I have talked to are that 80-90% of the Iraqi's are glad we are there. In the Army, the leaders have a saying - We spend 90% of our time taking care of 10% of our troops - the problem children.
Yes it is dangerous work, but our troops all understand that and we go forward, day after day.
CNN Europe always starts its news clips w/ an anti-Coalition or anti-American comment to set the tone of the article and then makes an effort to act neutral - but it is too late as the tone is set at the beginning. SO many people here are tainted by these comments.
Everything Christiana Amanpur says is suspect. I have talked to people who were with her and saw the "sensationalization" she added to her stories so they would sound better. And yet she is the lead reporter on CNN Europe.
So I have sent this on to you w/ my comments.
