New version of "The Truth About The Bush Resume" (I need advice, please!)
http://www.crossbearer.com/opinion/resume.html ^ | Curt King

I've posted a new version of "The Truth About The Bush Resume" on my web site:

http://www.crossbearer.com/opinion/resume.html

I do appreciate everyone who has e-mailed me with words of support and especially the people who have corrected me on some of my points. However, I need some advice: I do not have time to answer e-mails regarding "the resume" anymore, especially since some of the e-mails are becoming abusive.

Should I deactivate the e-mail address and remove it from the document? What would you do?

Thanks, Curt

My advice is to take on the original "Bush Resume" by making a rebuttal version just as nasty -- and readable -- as the original. "If I'd had more time I would have written less" -- edit, boil down and make every point coincide with their point. If you do this, FReepers will spread your work to all corners of the globe, I assure you. Especially if you do NOT ensure you get credit for authoriship by putting the damn thing on Acrobat Reader! What is more important, the info or the author?

I'm not picking up what you're saying.

Yes, the document could have been shorter, but what would you have cut out? The problem with the original resume is that it provides no facts. I do.

The only reason it's in Acrobat Reader is to make it portable--almost everyone has the Acrobat Reader. I didn't put in Reader to get credit for it--I'm not even sure how that applies.

Tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine....some

the a$$holkes a copy of the Krautheimer article today

Resign yourself to the fact that you are right and they
are wrong.....Bush will win again in 2004. Jake

If they are sending you valid e-mail addresses, forward them pro-life literature daily.

I'd say don't bother replying. Just make it clear in it that due to the volume of responses, it is not feasible for you to reply to everyone.

As for the nasty abusive fan mail, you should post copies of it here. Some of the best entertainment in the world is seeing the true liberal mindset come out in all of its glory.

I do hope that the e-mail address is a disposable one not your own@myISP.com. It's too late if not. I don't believe spammers can harvest from a PDF - yet, but the people who object to your writing can, and they can spam you or post your address elsewhere.

An address at Hotmail or the like is great for things that might need "disappearing" in the future.
I like mailshell.com - free, and it lets you set up new addresses "on the fly." For instance, I use it for newsletters and if it starts getting any spam I KNOW the newsletter sold my address. Keeps my real address from getting swamped by spam.
www.mailinator.com is a new service that you don't have to sign up for just make up an address and pick up any message there in a couple hours after that, it's gone. Great for places that want your address and you just know they're going to send you crap until forever, such as car dealers and the like. Since it's so transitory it wouldn't be helpful for something like your dilemma unless you checked it 6 times a day.
I do like #6. Sometimes hate mail can be funny - if I don't HAVE to read it!

BTW - what page is the Moby nonsense that got you interested in this. Don't know who or what he is but from the first 2 or 3 pages of the site I really doubt I want to read any of his pontificaations. Do you have a link to the "GW Resume" page?

Curt, I wanted to thank you for doing the work on this. I received the George Bush resume from my sister-in-law, today. I knew I would find the answer on FR and found your posting right away! I sent her a link to your PDF file. THANK YOU!!!

I do hope that the e-mail address is a disposable one not your own@myISP.com.

It's an address in my domain, but not my main one. (I tried to divert from my main address, but I get so much spam there now, it doesn't make much difference!)

Here's the link to Moby's "GW Resume" post, though he didn't have much more to say than just posting the resume itself:

http://www.moby.com/cms/viewdiary.asp?Diary_ID=1300&ViewType=Current

Moby is a borderline Christian (similar to being "kind of pregnant"?), but still veeerrrry liberal. Amazingly so. And his hatred for GWB is never hidden.

But he makes good music...go figure.
