http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_pages/startup_full.htm For Windows 98, 98SE, and Windows XP ( logged in as an Administrator ), go to Start/Run, and type in msconfig/ hit OK. The start up tab shows which programs are running on start up. Compare them to the list at the link, you may find some programs in your start up are useless. Getting rid of the junk will speed up any machine.
