this can't be correct because Bill Clinton came out to RAISE Davis's numbers in a Democratic state where the charming and charismatic ex-president is loved and trusted by all. How could opposition to Davis increase after Bill's visit?

Tom's numbers will be single digit come recall time. I agree. Though he may surprise us all and pull down 10%.
Whatever he gets it's wasted votes that can only help bustamante.

The poll showed Green Party candidate Peter Camejo with 5 percent and syndicated columnist and independent candidate Arianna Huffington with 2 percent of the respondents' support. A lot of people complained about the presence of these two at the debate, but I think it was a good thing. They draw from potential Bustamante voters (aka wild-eyed liberals), and that can't be bad.
