Suspect in murder of El Centro vet is apprehended(Illegal Alien)

CALEXICO--A U.S. Border Patrol agent apprehended an undocumented immigrant Friday morning identified as being the suspect wanted for questioning in regard to the 2002 murder of an 85-year-old World War II veteran in El Centro.

Martin Weiss died from multiple stab wounds during a suspected burglary attempt of his home in the 1200 block of Ross Avenue on March 4, 2002.

Jose Alberto Magana Verdugo, 22, of Mexicali was arrested after El Centro police detectives identified him as the suspect wanted for questioning in the Weiss murder, said El Centro police Sgt. Jerry Novak.

Magana's arrest was fortunate considering he had been wanted since the murder and extradition proceedings against him were about to start, added Novak.

Magana was spotted in a railroad boxcar near the downtown Calexico Port of Entry by a Border Patrol agent about 8 a. m., said Novak. A security guard at the port recognized the suspect as wanted and the El Centro Police Department was notified, added Novak. The detectives arrested Magana after he was transferred into their custody about 8:30 a.m.

Magana was being questioned by detectives Friday afternoon. He was booked into county jail on first-degree murder charges Friday night.

Still --- it's probably good to distinguish a violent murderous illegal --- like this guy or many of the others like the Railroad Serial killer who enjoyed blungeoning Americans to death from the more peaceful harmless illegals. They're all illegal immigrants if they disregard our immigration laws --- but there are many violent illegal immigrants coming in, many who have already murdered in Mexico before they decided to come here.
