Recall Fly on the Wall is the Sac Bee reporter side's answer to the popular California Insider weblog by Dan Weintraub. As far as I can determine, all of the contributors are lefties. One of them was even for Arianna up until she made a spectacle of herself at the debate.

LOL! It took THAT long for them to see Puff for what she really is?!?

My pick would be Arnold Schwarzenegger. For all his shortcomings, he's at least the major candidate most likely to win the tax increase California needs to get out of its fiscal mess.Arnold Ping.
To: John Jorsett
Ronald Reagan also asked for a tax increase when he was Governor. Arnold hasn't made a pledge that can be broken. The Democrats may get one but it will come with a big price tag attached.

I heard Arnold's interview with Sean Hannity and he said that there would be a tax increase "over his dead body", except in the case of an earthquake or terrorist attack. Can he really go back on such an unequivocal statement?
To: Batrachian
Phoney quote.

It's not a phony quote. I heard the interview live. You can say he won't keep his promises, but that's what he said. There's nothing wrong with my hearing.
To: Roscoe; Batrachian
no, it is not a phony quote. I listened carefully to Sean's interview of Arnold, and Batrachian is indeed correct in saying:

Here is what Mark Paul said in his previous column about Democrat candidate Gruener:
In his budget plan, Gruener proposes harsh medicine: Erase the state deficit by temporarily restoring the higher income tax brackets on the wealthy, more frequently reassessing commercial property and rolling back non-education spending to 1999 levels.
It's no wonder why this lefty likes Gruener - - he's a scumbag who wants to bend over society's hard-working, successful people for more more more. Of course, these idiots, Gruener and Paul and their fellow Marxist Democrat travellers, simply never factor into their "budget" calculations the natural consequence of their class warfare - - many of "the wealthy" will vote with their feet and leave California.

My pick would be Arnold Schwarzenegger. For all his shortcomings, he's at least the major candidate most likely to win the tax increase California needs to get out of its fiscal mess.Funny how these scumbags (Paul, et al) always say that the way to fix a "mess" which has been created by Democrat vote-buying ("spending") is to confiscate even more from working, traditional American families (Republicans).
He is right about one thing - - if there is going to be a tax increase it will have to be under a Republican governor. It is no wonder he thinks Arnold is the one. He surely understands that a McClintock tax increase is beyond the realm of possibility.
To: Batrachian
What kind of governor raises taxes on people devastated by a natural disaster or a terrorist attack?
Especially when the feds will bail out the damage anyway?
To: Kaslin
I heard it too; make that 5.

To: South40
Arnold has repeatedly made it clear that he has no intention to raise taxes. He's also made the politically smart move of not promising "under no circumstances" because there will be many things beyond his control. My guess you will see various targeted tax cuts proposed by Arnold.
Bustamante is on the record pledging to raise taxes. He calls it "tough love". Thanks, Cruz, but I've got all the love I need.
