That is a very interesting thought. Wilson did say he could not go anywhere in Africa unnoticed because he had been with Clinton on some 11-day junket. If she was an operative, it is perfect cover.

No cab member/or Rove would purposely break a federal law knowing that if there was an investigation, they would be outed in a heartbeat. It is absurd on its face.
There will be no smoking gun in the cab, but this latest DNC/media attack will serve to weaken the positive rating of, and confidence in, the Bush team.
A good portion of the sheeple will think that it is horrible- how Bush put this poor guy's family in danger. The maj of sheeple will not understand this issue, and will come out with 'Bush Bad'.

I tried to call CSpan yesterday and had no problem getting a ring. They never answered for me either and I started calling in plenty of time to get on. I am writing CSpan today. That station in spite of saying they are fair are not. This constant agree/disagree with Bush line is the most unfair of all. Guess I will start calling the disagree line and I bet I will get on. I will play by their rules from now on.

I called cspan this morning and got through on the first ring before I was awake good. I just couldn't take some woman that called in to say the republicans "impeached Clinton for having sex". There are so many absolute dingbats that call in making wild claims that I rarely watch the call in shows anymore. They are incensed right now about lies, liers, war mongers,etc.---as long as those liers are republicans. These same fanatics had no problem with a bar bouncer looking through republican FBI files--or the fact nobody even hired the guy.(yeah right Hillary)
I have your exact concern regarding all the dems Bush kept when he came in. This is one issue I get angry with him about. Hillary made sure only people extremely loyal were in every slot they could fill. I know Bush was hoping to change the climate and bickering, but it's time to get in loyal republicans that aren't going to try and tarnish this administration and have a reality check that there is nowhere too low for the dems to go. I can see them pulling something like this a few days before the presidential election where there would not be enough time to find the "source" of the leak. It is impossible to get rid of Tenet now because of the fallout from this latest story. Did we ever find out who leaked the confidential document after 9/11 that caused a frenzy of stories that "Bush knew"? I want that pursued and don't remember dems screaming for justice with that leak. I hope we find the people that did this and we will see if they were FOB/FOH or FOGW's. This stinks like Bill and Hill's appointee coming out with a report saying the EPA lied about air quality near ground zero after 9/11 because of pressure by the Bush administration. She wasn't getting enough traction on that story,so she decided to move on to plan B.
Hillary's stirrin' her cauldron and preparing to mount her broom and fly in to "save the American people from the dishonest Bush administration". This should be comical after the dozens of real scandals the Clinton's were involved in, but unfortunately half the voters in this country can't see the truth.

Right now it looks like the dems have much to gain and little to lose from this. That could change when one considers all the players in this. For me, now at least, it has all of the intrigue as did the Hiss/Chambers saga.
Because of FReepers and threads like this, I have not even opened my Washington Times this morning.

This was rehashed by none other than SCHUMER. No doubt at the behest of her heinous.
There is a federal law against revealing the name of CIA agents.....agent protection act......(not quite sure of the name of the law)
SCHUMER voted AGAINST the law when he was in congress.

Why not just lock Novak up until he releases the name of his source. If this is truly about releasing sources that compromised an intelligence asset, it could be possible.

Kurtz wrote an ugly hit piece on the administration and held Novak blameless for revealing the Wilson's wife's name.

This oleaginous creep is enjoying the publicity too much.
I wouldn't put it past these people, Wilson and his wife, to have arranged this outing themselves.
And he's associated with Moveon.org?! That's the nail in the coffin of his credibility.
To: maica
idea that someone in the current admin That idea has not been proven to be the case. I suspect that someone in opposition to the current admin is responsible for the leak.

They want to nail Karl Rove...it's Karl Rove they're after... Karl Rove is the target. That would be my guess ... plus the left has been wanting to cause a riff between the White House and the CIA for some time now

I admit that I haven't been following this story much, since it appeared to have 'died' some weeks ago. But I have two questions for the forum:
Is Joe Wilson's wife a "covert agent" or an "analyst"? I've heard both.
If she is an "analyst" does she have cover or is her position acknowleged?
My questions go to the nature of the alleged offense. Was her cover blown or not? If it was generally known in DC that Wilson's wife worked at CIA, who is harmed by Novak's disclosure?

Buchanan is on Wilson side, there will be no "smoking out". SO does this mean Buchanan agrees with The Commies of America and Moveon.Org?

That's why I've stopped watching Washington Journal on a regular basis. They are not fair and balanced.I stopped being a regular watcher of Washington Journal when Brian Lamb installed the Republican, Democrat & Other phone lines. It was obvious that C-Span was engaged in "trolling" for controversy in an effort to seem "balanced." What they end-up getting is a bunch of uninformed ranting on 2 of the 3 lines. Logic & reason are crowded out by conspiracy & hatred.
