Well the 2004 election is upon us and the scandals will be think and furious -- urged on by the lamestream media. We should keep count. Perhaps this is scandal #1 (with the usual call for a special prosecutor). Perhaps scandal #2 is today's attempt (again) to tie Cheney to Haliburton interests. Plenty more to come in the next year.

This really is just template election year politics. Going after the head honcho political operative (Rove) is merely business as usual.

Exposing CIA agents was termed treason under the first Bush. If this story turns out true Rove needs a cell beside Pollard for the next 20 years.

"If there was ever a case that demanded a special counsel, this is it," he said. "This is a very serious national security matter where there is a clear conflict of interest for the attorney general because it could involve high-level White House officials." I think this is what the Libs are really up to ... they want to start making up scandals through a "Special Counsel"

As opposed, say, to illegal campaign contributions from people connected to the People's Liberation Army?

It seems to me that it is ROBERT NOVAK himself who "leaked" this unworthy agent's name. He did not have to say anything. But he is generally sympathetic to the Arab view, and we shouldn't be suprised to see him try and undermine the War on Terror any way he can. Meanwhile, revealed or not, this woman is similarly biased against American interests and has no place in the intelligence service. She should have been fired a long time ago, along with the incompetant George Tenet.

If this story turns out true Wilson is aligned with Moveon.org. The likelihood of this story being true (that the WH had anything at all to do with it) is slim.

I'd be very surprised if Rove leaked this information and risked a federal prison term. To what end?
Risking an agent's life is and should be a prison term for anyone who did it; I just don't see Rove as the guy because by all accounts he's waaaay too smart and would clearly understand the risks involved.

Spy Games By Clifford D. May
Was it really a secret that Joe Wilson's wife worked for the CIA?
It's the top story in the Washington Post this morning as well as in many other media outlets. Who leaked the fact that the wife of Joseph C. Wilson IV worked for the CIA?
On July 14, Robert Novak wrote a column in the Post and other newspapers naming Mr. Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame, as a CIA operative.
That wasn't news to me. I had been told that but not by anyone working in the White House. Rather, I learned it from someone who formerly worked in the government and he mentioned it in an offhanded manner, leading me to infer it was something that insiders were well aware of.

I'd be extremely surprised if Rove was behind this. By all accounts, he's way too smart, devoted to the president and knows the risks involved.
Whoever leaked should be arrested and imprisoned, but I think there's just as good a chance a Rat operative leaked this information to make the administration look bad as somebody in the Bush administration did the actual leaking.
Today it was announced the White House would release all phone records requested by the Justice Dept.

Wilson is aligned with Moveon.org. The likelihood of this story being true (that the WH had anything at all to do with it) is slim. Exactly, this vile Wilson along with his biased Clinton-holdover wife were trying to undermine Bush from within with this whole Niger fiasco in the first place. I have said for nearly two years that George Tenet is unworthy of trust and should be fired. Now he found himself insurance against being fired with this Novak nonsense.

I for find it odd that those who would never dare question the judgement of the Bush adim., are the same people who would eagerly question the actions of the Clinton admin., and rightly so. Something to think about eh? Those who would never dare...? Sounds like more unnamed sources to me. Something more you can think about.
