Investigating this is a great idea! This is an example of the Press functioning as "players and partisans" rather than "reporters and commentators." By becoming players in the political fray, they become fair game for the investigator.
Their names, public comments and hints of wrong doing are common knowledge. Now, they should be grilled on the "leaks." It is also a good time to punish "leakers." Bravo for Bush II.

Senator Charles E. Schumer, the New York Democrat who led calls for a criminal investigation when Mr. Novak's column appeared, said he was troubled that the White House had waited until 12 hours after receiving formal notification from the Justice Department to direct its staff not to destroy documents. He's complaining about 12 hours?
