I wasn't clear whether this would be an open hearing or private.

I'm guessing that the WH will make the salient points public, if only to bolster the circumstantial case against WMD.

Before we get too excited, FNC reported that David Kay is also investigating reports that Saddam Hussein bragged about having WMD when in fact he didn't have them.
At this head-turning-news, I nearly flew out of my seat. We know he had them - he's used them 10 times since the 80's. There was even an article stating the number of times he's used them posted on FR in the last day or two.
It's going to be a rocky week as I think we can expect more "leaks" from our enemies.

Rocky week is right! The Bush administration is getting it from all sides. I am just wondering when they are going to finally start fighting back!
To: Peach
I almost flew out of mine, also. Yup, get ready for a rocky week.

Good question. The GOP has NEVER defended itself appropriately and with Frist at the helm in the Senate, I don't expect that to change soon.

I have no doubt this scheduled hearing has everything to do with the pumping up the volume on the Novak leak issue....
I am anxiously waiting to see what Kay has to say tomorrow and how much of it we will hear and how it gets spun.

The hearing will be in the afternoon and I missed whether it would be open or closed hearing. Regardless, there will be leaks and they won't be from our fellow Republicans but rather from the enemy within - the Rats.

What you will hear will be along the lines of "still no weapons discovered" and "Bush Administration deeply disappointed after having been accused of exaggerating threat."

I have noticed that, yes. Do you think it's because we play fair and square or because people are smarter than they look?

Ummm... you do realize they keep winning election after election over the past decade right? That little point keeps slipping past so many here. Dear God, if the media treated the GOP fairly we'd be a one-party country.

Kay prepares the troops for a big let down.
I really like his story that Saddam bluffed and lost-- what a joke. If Saddam fooled our administration and those who vetted the intelligence need to be fired ASAP. More likely Saddam was just a senile vain old man who liked the Arab world thinking he had all these great weapons.
