KUWAIT CITY (AP)--Kuwaiti security authorities have foiled an attempt to smuggle $60 million worth of chemical weapons and biological warheads from Iraq to an unnamed European country, a Kuwaiti newspaper said Wednesday.
The pro-government Al-Siyassah, quoting an unnamed security source, said the suspects had been watched by security since they arrived in Kuwait and were arrested "in due time." It didn't say when or how the smugglers entered Kuwait or when they were arrested.
The paper said the smugglers might have had accomplices inside Kuwait. It said Interior Minister Sheik Nawwaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah would hand over the smuggled weapons to an FBI agent at a news conference, but didn't say when.
Government officials couldn't be immediately reached for comment.
Iraqi Interior Minister Nouri Al-Badran met Tuesday with Sheik Nawwaf and discussed cooperation between the two countries in security matters. His visit is the first by an Iraqi interior minister to Kuwait since 1990.

Where's the fervor from the media? Um, isn't this kinda important if true????? I thought so. It was one of those surreal moments where I am reading something and thinking, "Does this say what I think it says?".

Is this for real? Should put the Rusho and WH "leak" on the backburner in a few minutes.

Link? This would be nifty if true, but I would advise caution... I have the Dow Newswire streamed so I can't link. However, I will look for a link to the AP story as well as the story mentioned in the Kuwaiti paper.

Well, well, well... look what we have here. Iraqi arms being smuggled OUT of Iraq.
After the evidence has been processed, and presented, I think it's only fair to let the Kuwaitis keep `em. A nice way to make folks think twice before they invade that ally of ours.

If it is true..(would like it re posted with a link) then it would sink the leftist, pro-saddam/France/National Socialist (read: anti-US/anti-freedom) movements and claims and pretty much shut down the war protests and the dominate media would NEVER let that happen.
Mind you, if this does break on the news, they will demand conformation after conformation with long, detail "investigations" and several (left-wing) "experts" taking pot shots at it. If only they were 1/2 as dilligent when Amb Wilson came out with this lie of a charge saying Bush's people disclosed his wife's CIA connections. They might ask him why he did also on his website.

**Kuwaiti security authorities have foiled an attempt to smuggle $60 million worth of chemical weapons and biological warheads from Iraq to an unnamed European country, a Kuwaiti newspaper said Wednesday. **
Based on the article's first paragraph, I would assume the weapons/warheads have been confiscated by authorities.

Yeah, you might be right...
These incidents didn't involve the Kuwaiti military, did they? If the Kuwaiti military has `em, it might be safe, but destroying them might be a better idea.
