I won't believe this unless they have tapes of Rush admitting it. There is no way Rush would be a drug addict, breaking federal laws on a daily basis! No way this is true. A lot better people than Rush have gone down to narcotics.

Rush is just a man. He is not a diety. I personally hope he has or will get a handle on his problem and continue his show. Dittos

The lefties in the country are all out to get any conservative they can. Rush is a big target because he's changed the course of this country so much. I wouldn't be surprised if hillary isn't behind this somehow. She's a venomous snake!

" Does anyone here seriously believe that Rush would be buying prescription drugs from his HOUSEKEEPER? I mean, the man could BUY a doctor to prescribe whatever he wanted."
And that MD would be going to jail. The DEA and state medical boards monitor the prescribing of opiods. If a physician is discovered over or improperly prescribing opiods,he is investigated and can be prosecuted. Most MDs are extremely careful about prescribing opiods to patients, especially those with vague pain symptoms. The housekeeper, especially if she had proven to be a loyal and "honest" employee, would be the safe choice, rather than doctor shopping or trying to get the drugs from unknowns.

I won't comment on my personal views of Rush Limbaugh, but I will comment on the facts as they are, in their infancy, presented:
There are many doctors willing to prescribe anything to anybody for a fee. If Rush had to purchase from the black market, I would like to know how much he was paying per 160mg Oxycontin (They are reportedly not being produced any longer by Purdue Pharma, but they are the only OxyContin that are "blue." They are primarily prescribed to those with a high opoid tolerance, but the daily dosage of the drug can be as high as needed, with no upper limits for the prescriber.
Why he'd need 4000 pills at at time would astound me, but it *IS* the black market appeal of this drug especially that is making it more difficult for a chronic pain patient to obtain a legitimate prescription. If he were obtaining drugs on the Black Market, I say shoot the bastard! for the reason just indicated.
I agree with some who have reasoned the hypocrisy of the "racial" slur Rush made on ESPN. I once owned a black leather jacket which was identical to a co-worker's who happened to be black. He mentioned to me one day that mine looked darker than his, and I replied that it may have been because of the contrast of our skin color. For that he lambasted me as being racist. I say F__K Him! The fact is the fact.
Back to Rush: as his lawyers suggested, medical status of anybody is *supposed* to be private information. But if he were purchasing drugs from dealers, then he was committing a federal crime. Ah but, you say, "Clinton and the dems committed federal crimes!!" If we get into morality issues, and if ANY on this list want to complain about dem dar lib-dems, then hold Mr. Limbaugh accountable to the same extent!
The fact of the matter is, in my opinion, that if Rush wants to do drugs in his private life, that is up to him to decide. Government should never have had a hand in dictating what choices an individual makes as long as he is hurting nobody outside of himself.
In his 1998 commentary about the legalization of drugs, Rush forgets to mention that it is our own government who are the biggest drug peddlers on the planet. As long as money is to be had (and lots of it!), our government will never legalize drugs. Marijuana, for *one* instance, was only criminalized because of the oil and forestry industry lobbyists who knew that hemp would impose on their profits...
Back to Rush. If he *did* commit the crimes he is accused of, then I say he was on dope to have put himself in the position he is currently accused of. A public personality such as himself should've/would've/could've used an intermediary to get the drugs on his behalf, and sh/wo/co NEVER emailed anything to anybody that he didn't want public knowledge. Having said that, if needed, I could forge headers and information to "make" an email say anything I wanted it to.
Rush's only *real* crime is (would be, if the allegations are true) being a bad judge of character and not being smart enough to find a couple practitioners to dole out whatever drugs he finds the need to abuse.
just my 2 cents.

Brett Favre played football on pain killers. Your tolerance builds as time passes. What would get many people stoned will have little effect on a person with high a tolerance.
