I don't understand, Yahoo AP etc headline is "No illiegal weapons found in Iraq. Can anyone help me understand this thread. Did we find something or are we just saying Saddam has been hiding these things for years. Need to read the report .. Andrew Sullivan did a pretty good piece on it
http://www.andrewsullivan.com/
Basically we found things that could make WMD, just not the bowl holding the ingredients all mixed up and ready to go.

Bush: I don't make decision based on polls and I'm not going to forget the lessons
of 9/11 that killed innocents.
This administration will deal with gathering dangers wherever we find them.

Since Kay made his report and mentioned botulism found in Iraq, some Freepers who are opposed to the war in Iraq, have tried to downplay the find of botulism by saying "it's even found in baby food". Then I guess they wouldn't mind doing a little taste testing of what Kay found to tell us that it's really not that bad?
I'm sorry ... but that is the lamest argument I've heard
From my College Home Ec days: A TEASPOON of botulinum can kill a horse. So you can get an idea of how much it would take to kill a human...*"an amount as tiny as a grain of salt can kill several people within an hour."
This is also why children under the age of two should not be given honey. It contains a form of botulinum which will make them ill.
*Source: Nutrition: Concepts and Controversies, copyright 2000 (PS This is the newest PC nutrition book, but the botulinum info is accurate)

I think the President should get a few copies of those Hussein "entertainment" tapes that they made while torturing people, and run them in the middle of one of his speeches. PBS (of all places) ran a good, quite graphic documentary (the factual, non-Micheal Moore variety) on the results of Saddam's chemical weapons testing on the Kurds. Let the libs chew on that.

In this connection, the comment that the Fourth Estate has become a fifth column is spot on. The 'Rats and their allies in the press have become fascists, in my opinion. Their mindset closely resembles Mussolini and Franco -- anti-military bias notwithstanding. Ok, since we're using definitions that were never really clear to me...can someone enlighten me on that the first three estates are? TIA

Gee, thanks for mentioning the baby food thing. It made me search "canning" as I have been freezing tomatoes. I guess it's an okay method. They turn to mush from feezing and make great chili.

Thanks... but if he was feeling confident, then there is more. Which I never doubted. Which I know you did not either.

Things are coming undone and his advisors are telling him all is well. We've seen this before. He trusts too much because he is trustworthy. He is being lied to by his advisors. You're right! He should be listening to random poster who has logged nearly a month on FR!
Can you name one of his advisors (not Rove or Rice)? If so, can you then give us an example or two of said lies?

Kerik should take on Chuckie Schumer in '04. With Rudy behind him, he'd win

"Fifth Column" actually goes back to the French Revolution. The people of Paris were the "Fifth Column" that would arise at the rear of the army and bring them down. It is a valid concept and has been applied in every war since then to civilians prepared to rise up and harrass the army.

This is probably more information than you wanted to know but
e.medicine is one of my favorite sources of good medical information. If you run a search on that site there are several other articles with much overlapping information but each with a slightly different spin: infant botulism vs. WMD vs. botox etc.

The first three estates (in the
Etates Generale which began the French Revolution) are the Clergy, the Nobility and the Commons. We get our political terms of "left" and "right" from where those groups sat on a tennis court at Versailles in 1791. It is an indication of the separate power of the modern press that it was termed the "Fourth Estate."
