Springsteen wove strong criticism of the administration of President Bush into the first of the final three shows at Shea Stadium on Wednesday night, playing a recording of Bush talking about weapons of mass destruction, questioning America's motives for the war in Iraq and calling for Bush's defeat as he seeks re-election next year.
"It is time to impeach the president and put in somebody that knows what they're doing," the musician, known as "The Boss," told the crowd.
Heading into the hit "Born in the U.S.A.," he said: "The question of whether we were misled into the war in Iraq isn't a liberal or conservative or Republican or Democratic question, it's an American one.

Exactly. He's a great performer and musician, but probably doesn't know squat about foreign policy or national security. I won't buy any more of his albums. He can go to hell with the rest of the anti-American left in this country...

Eff you, Bruce.
In an intellectual showdown between you and a sack of rocks, the rocks would win.
Now, wander back to the Rock N Rollers Old Folks Home before someone finds you missing.

Sounds like Springsteen hasn't talked with any of our troops lately. He's too busy shooting himself with one of his favorite drugs. Wonder if Bubba Clintoon is his supplier?
To: CMClay
Let's ignore Springsteen just for the heck of it. Same for the whole industry.

Heading into the hit "Born in the U.S.A.," he said: "The question of whether we were misled into the war in Iraq isn't a liberal or conservative or Republican or Democratic question, it's an American one.Appropriate that he chose that song to make his little rant, since in 1984 he refused permission to Ronald Reagan to use that song on his campaign tour.

"Springsteen is a leftist. That's nothing new. "
Not to mention an extremely overrated musician. He screams, he doesn't sing. I'm going to give Kid Rock and Ted Nugent a call and have them kick his arse.
To: mallardx
He's a great performer and musician, but probably doesn't know squat about foreign policy or national security. I won't buy any more of his albums. I haven't bought an album since Tunnel of Love, which I thought was pretty weak. I loved his early stuff, especially Greetings From Asbury Park.
A teenage friend asked me to take her to see Springsteen last April at the LA Forum. Overall, I was pretty diappointed. I had not seen him since around 1990 and I would have rather had that as my memory. He would play one good old song, then some post 911 crap. Borring, monotone, derivative. I told the kid I took that the crappy stuff started showing up after he married Patty Scaflia. We started calling her Yoko Ono.

"It is time to impeach the president and put in somebody that knows what they're doing," the musician, known as "The Boss," told the crowd. Well, there goes any respect I may have once had for Springsteen. Is this what rockers resort to when they get washed up? What a pompous ass.
To: CMClay
"It is time to impeach the president and put in somebody that knows what they're doing." That would be Cheney. Yes, Cheney does know what he's doing. But seriously, it's long past time for impeachment of the President. He should have suffered impeachment, conviction, and removal long ago over his foreign policy. Giving up our official secrets to the Chicoms for campaign dollars certainly does amount to "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors." So does lying under oath.
But Springstein's got a problem. The guy worthy of impeachment, conviction, and removal from the presidency has not held that office since noon, 20 January 2001. Perhaps it's time to remind this idiot actor that we already removed the president whom he wishes to impeach upon the end of his term through a process known as election of a new president, Texas Governor George W. Bush. Bush, elected in a sweeping 271-266 landslide, eagerly accepted the post and has performed the duties of the president in a most commendable manner. Americans really admire his leadership and his staunch opposition to enemies of the United States who want them dead.

I'm sick to death of his old-man croaking and his 30 year-old songs.

I concur. I've always found the Boss's music sloppy and not very pleasant to listen to. He grunts and groans the lyrics, nothing melodic about it.
He reminds of a guy who never grew past his high school phase.

I saw him in concert back in '88, but I'll never pay another dime to support this vile, anti-American, piece of dung.

Springsteen has been a zero since around 1980, and hasn't had a decent piece of music since then. The guy's living on his memories, and it's time someone woke him up and poured him a strong cup of joe.

Yesterday, in an event that was virtually ignored by the Media, an Iraqi official took to the microphones in an attempt to shame those who opposed the war against Saddam.
He spoke of the rapes, torture, and murder. He said that the nations and world bodies that ignored the holocaust in Iraq are to blame, and that only the US and Britain had the courage to stop it. The acid baths, children's prisons, and sexual torture of girls as young as 7 years old was enough justification to do what we did, Mr. Springsteen.
Now shut up and sing.

I've never liked Springsteen. His name should be
OVER RATED". I've never bought his music and turn his crap off when it comes on the radio.
The worst is at Holiday time when the jocks play his incredibly stupid rendition of Santa Clause is Comin' to town". He is a boor.

Its all part of the liberal's grand illusion that only they can be sensitive, only they can be creative, only they can be intelligent enough to understand the complexity and nuance of the human condition.
At least that's what I thought when I was one.
But with the help of my twelve step program, my LA meetings and my friends at Free Republic I'm recovering one day at a time.
Sure, I have the urge now and then to arch an eyebrow and look over the top of my glasses and say "Oh really?" when I hear a conservative say something especially incisive but I resist, I reach in my pocket and grab the Charles Heston signature silver bullet I got for joining the NRA and repeat the serenity prayer....
The urge passes and reality returns.

"It is time to impeach the president and put in somebody that knows what they're doing." -- Bruce Springsteen
Hmm.. That's genius, Bruce. That sounds like code for wanting the President replaced with someone that matches your leftist world views. Hmm, let's run down the list...
President Bush is impeached and removed from office.. Due to line of succession -- and assuming magical impeachment and removal of every Administration official you can think of -- go ahead and choose your president, "Boss"...

President John Dennis Hastert
President Theodore F. Stevens
President Colin L. Powell
