Just recieved this notification today. It saddens my heart to report this. Admiral Zeev Almog was the former Commander in Chief of the Israeli Navy and a true pioneer in the Israeli Submarine Service.
He was very well loved and respected by his US Navy counter-parts. His entire family was killed in this attack, and no one survives to carry on his legacy.

CDR Zeev Almog(71) his wife Ruth(70), their son Moshe(43) and grandson(9) Tomer were murdered yesterday by an abject terrorist while having a family lunch, at the Maxim restaurant in Haifa. Rest of the family were severely injured.
CDR Almog was one of the founders of the Israeli submarine force, first skipper of the INS Leviathan, founder and first chairman of the Dolphin Association and the legendary schoolmaster of the Acre Naval Cadet College.
