Do you have a reference?
The very idea that a "senior administration official" would, in effect, rat on two of his assiciates seems very far fetched to me. At a minimum, if true, this sounds like a holdover Dem doing his duty for "the cause". What is amazing is that this WP story has any legs at all. Where are the 6 journalists and why haven't they come forward. There is no issue of confidentiality of sources here. Now that would add some credibility to the story. If one or more of the 6 don't come forward and at least make the claim that they where contacted by one of the two administration officials then there is no story.
My understanding was that Andrea Mitchell and Chris Matthews were contacted several days to a week after the Novak article appeared in the press. Matthews reportedly told Wilson that it was Rove that called him. But again at least two of these six reporters (and we dont know the others) were called AFTER the article appeared. Wilson said that they had been called before but what Ive heard lately was that Matthews and Mitchell were contacted afterwards to give the story legs, not to leak it.
