More accurately, it is a dialectical tool, a wedge that is being wielded by the Left to split the edifice of the status quo, to overthrow the values of the stodgy bourgeoisie and bring about the cultural (and political) revolution that will elevate the proletariat to their rightful station.

It has nothing to do with sex.
