California gubernatorial hopeful Tom McClintock corroborated charges late Monday that incumbent Gov. Gray Davis has a nasty temper and an abusive streak, offering an account that echoes a controversial 1997 report by Jill Stewart in the Los Angeles New Times.
"I can tell you from firsthand experience that Gray Davis is a man who cannot control himself in meetings," McClintock told Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes."
Asked to explain, the California conservative revealed:
"I was in a Republican caucus meeting just a couple of years ago where he erupted into a symphony of obscenities. It was shocking behavior. So I don't doubt those stories at all."
McClintock said that he had "never seen another governor do that," adding, "And I've watched governors under a lot of pressure - I've created a lot of pressure for governors in the past. Never have I seen one behave in that manner."
The conservative Republican said that Davis' meltdown came "with no provocation. He just lost control of himself."
Stewart's New Times report detailed obscenity-laced rages by Davis against staffers, and at least two instances of physical assault against female underlings.

Let's elect Tom McClintock and see him create pressure for some Democrats in the legislature.

Let's elect Tom McClintock and see him create pressure for some Democrats in the legislature. Sure wish California would elect McClintock tomorrow. But if not, now that he's gotten major exposure, there's always the Senate race...
Davis
"... erupted into a symphony of obscenities."McClintock said that he had "never seen another governor do that,"
Tom McClintock saw Pete Wilson call Tom and the conservatives "f***ing irrelevant." Davis' symphony of obscenities is far more than just one or two -- it's an uncontrolled string of them.

"He just lost control of himself."Too bad that nobody has ever thought of catching one or more of these episodes on video, concealed of course. It would make a truly spectacular backdrop for a pro-recall ad spot. And about a thousand copies of the video could be sent out to all the media.

McC is quoted as saying:
"I was in a Republican caucus meeting just a couple of years ago where he erupted into a symphony of obscenities. It was shocking behavior. So I don't doubt those stories at all." Do Dimocrat Governors attend Republican caucus meetings?

i heard he uses the eff word in strings of five to ten times...
"eff effer effer gd dmn effing eff of an effing effeer" sorta stuff.
Hey every body slips now and then, sometimes perhaps it's warranted...but after the fifth or sixth time, doesn't the "eff" word start to sound like a stuttering problem instead of an expression one?
what an inferior person he must be....

Tom is just now comming out with this!!! Parley
To: kattracks
Yes, McClintock has stated that he has witnessed Davis unable to control himself a number of times. He said he believes the Davis staffer's story (about the shaking and swearing).
To: kattracks
Davis' Symphony "Pathetic" (sic) (he's probably got 100 of 'em, like Haydn).
To: Parley Baer
No, I've heard audio of him making these statements throughout the weekend and today. The media is not all that anxious to give him coverage, especially if he's critical of Davis.

No wonder Davis has the Clinton's help. He understands their thing for cursing.

Sure wish California would elect McClintock tomorrow. But if not, now that he's gotten major exposure, there's always the Senate race... Regardless of how the guv race ends up, don't be surprised if the Cal GOP throws a roadblock in any plans McClintock has for Senate.
