If I am right about the numbers, perhaps this is how the sex/groping "scandals" played. Many folks decided to vote against the recall, and then opt out for a replacement - that combined with Cruz phobia.

It is a mystery to me how people could be hoodwinked time and time again with last minute smear jobs about candidates... Like people who refused to vote for George Bush because of his DUI 30 years ago... Illogical.

Exit data will be interesting...... The smears apparently didn't hurt him at all with women.... Hispanics didn't vote for the democrats on recall or Bustamante by large numbers... I think the democrats also changed tactics thus confusing their voters.... even encouraging their voters to vote no on the the recall and leave the replacement blank....
I personally think the electorate was fed up and wanted a change.
