Rush is suddenly silent

Rush Limbaugh, the most successful conservative radio personality ever, must come clean over allegations of drug abuse, or he's toast. I say this sadly, since I'm one of Rush's 23 million fans. Allegations that he illegally obtained and used huge amounts of addictive pain pills like OxyContin, the "hillbilly heroin," can't be papered over with "let's stick to the issues," as Rush told his listeners yesterday.

The author of the article needs to be reminded that Rush has NOT been charged with anything and all allegations come from the National Inquirer from people with very questionable backgrounds.

Suppose Rush was taking painkillers? So what? What he needs is help and understanding. I don't see how this changes any of the facts on rampant taxation and most of the other things he rails against.

Media shills know Rush hasn't been charged, they play the lie for advantage.

When hiring Roy Black, he is seeking legal counsel. There is a criminal investigation in which Rush's name surfaced. For him to ignore the advice of counsel would not only be a terrible PR move, but it could endanger his freedom. I believe his first concern is protecting his family from this attack. His listeners can be patient.

Every news legal analyst ( talking head lawyer ) asked on various shows said they would tell their client to do the same, say nothing.
I think there's more to this story than meets the eye as in who's responsible for this behind the scenes. It's either going to be impossible to track down or the worst kept secret in the nation. Rush might know something about who it is.

Rush is doing the smart thing. How many times do celebs make huge mistakes by blabbing all over the place, when faced with a legal problem? He is going to remain silent and will deal with this properly. I am just amazed that no "allegations" have come yet. Perhaps this whole thing is a big fat lie.

As for me, I am willing to give Rush the benefit of the doubt. I find it ironic that these drug allegations came right on the heels of the accusations of him being a racist for offering his opinions on ESPN. Coincidence? Time will tell....
