Pity that the writer hasn't managed to master the use of plurals when writing formal expository prose on the subject of illiteracy.

Two serious grammatical mistakes in one paragraph. I mean really.

This is a truly serious problem. Colleges are becomeing mills turning out graduates with no quality control. The value of a college degree is being diminished as much as the cost of it is inflated. For as much as the corprate raiding is damned in college, its most at home within their walls.

Before you can ask students to read for a specific length of time, you have to teach them to read -- something that a lot of public schools have a tough time doing.

Students in the middle school in my district are required to read 1/2 hour every night in addition to doing their homework.
