Aren't Kodiak bears grizzlies? Just named Kodiak for the area they inhabit.

Yes. Some are unusually large.

Sort of, both Grizzlies and Kodiaks are brown bears. Most Grizzlies top out around 900lbs. Kodiaks around 1600lbs. You can think of Kodiaks as a super-sized Grizzly.
