SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! Freedom Rally Against Terror and Tyranny on Sat., Oct. 25, 2003 in Wash., D.C.
D.C. Chapter ^ | Tuesday, October 7, 2003 | Kristinn and Angelwood

Posted on 10/07/2003 8:35:23 PM PDT by kristinn

For too long, America's fighting men and women have been laboring on a two-front war not of their choosing: The front against terror and tyranny that they volunteered for, and the flank that we must defend for them against efforts by the media and leftists to undermine their morale and resolve.

All summer long, and now into fall, our brave men and women have been doing great work in Iraq, Afghanistan and other areas around the world eliminating terrorist threats to our security while bringing freedom to oppressed people.

Those efforts have been buried under an onslaught of biased reporting and political maneuvering by the enemies of freedom at home and abroad.

On Saturday, October 25 at 11 a.m., patriotic Americans will gather at the Capitol in Washington, D.C. to stand up for our troops and reiterate our support for them, their Commander-in-Chief, America and the war on terror.

All FReepers and lurkers in good standing, their friends and families, and all who support our troops and their mission are encouraged to attend. Nothing but a strong public showing will do. Those in uniform are making great sacrifices. The least we can do is give up one day to say "thank you!" to them.

What: The Freedom Rally Against Terror and Tyranny

When: Saturday, October 25, 2003, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: The West Front of the Capitol Building at 3rd Street, on the Mall.

Bring: American and Gadsden flags (large and small,) service and Blue Star flags, and signs bearing messages of support for our troops.

Confirmed Speakers:

The Honorable Robert K. Dornan
Niger Innis
Blanquita Cullum
Rebecca Davis.

More speakers to be announced soon.

This rally will be held rain or shine.

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

This will be the 6th rally in the last 18 months we have sponsored. We haven't done them all by ourselves and we are most appreciative of the help we have received. We humbly ask once again for any help that can be provided to send a message of support for our troops. Please click here to help.

Special thanks to Registered for the logos.

I don't know what was said on the post you replied to, Jon; but you won't be alone. We don't have the big bucks to hire buses and pay airfare for big name speakers, so our crowd won't be huge. What it lacks in number, it will more than make up for in patriotic spirit and good humor. Plus, we all bathe regularly.
:-)

We've been holding rallies and counter-protests against the commies of ANSWER/WWP/ISO/Code Pink/etc. since September 29, 2001 - and we seem to have them supremely annoyed at us.

This past Memorial Day weekend, on a whim, I went to observe and photograph the speakers and the signs held at an ANSWER-sponsored (and co-sponsored by the Muslim American Society) "Muslim Solidarity" rally; and Brian Becker (WWP commie) and Mara VerHeyden-Hilliard (ANSWER, etc. America-hating lefty) went ballistic on me. One person, a short and dumpy middle-aged broad like me, just standing around quietly - taking it all in... and they came completely unglued.

Mara VerHeyden-Hilliard, whose public image is one of a cool and rational "human rights, civil rights, people's lawyer," turned into a junior high school brat, tossing childish insults in my face and whispering to her green-hatted "observers" just before they surrounded me and blocked my view of the stage and speakers. Others shoved me and made specific threats of violence and severe physical harm. My rights were violated, and VerHeyden-Hilliard didn't come to my rescue. Imagine that. (Kristinn was on the edge of the crowd, and he brought in the LEOs who had some words with the instigators)

It was a golden moment, albeit a threatening one to me. I'm sure they were humiliated at their turnout that day - fewer than we have had at some of our rallies ;-) They must now be very worried that their movement is in a serious QUAGMIRE.

I will continue to do whatever is in my power to unmask the "anti-war" movement's RED ROOTS, and to help spread the word to the media and the general public. And that is why our rallies are important. Without a counterpoint to their ranting "peace" rallies, they have the media all to themselves.

I have no problem with folks who are genuinely morally or religiously against war. I have a big problem with humans who lie about their motives, who mislead as to their goals, who hide their communist ties, and who wish to destroy America.

I'll see you on the 25th!
(24th for dinner, wherever it will be)

Hmmm...seems Whiney Wimpy Pestilence struck a nerve. (refer to Post #140)

I love product testing on the web. It is cheap and results are fast.

This sign is definitely a keeper.

The person whose post was removed had just signed up today and was second guessing his/her support for the war on terror, besides asking disingenuous questions about the size of the other rally versus ours and implying that the war wasn't popular any more.

You must have "supremely annoyed" the ANSWER people to generate such animosity from them merely by your presence at one of their events. Way to go -- I'll watch your back. Just for the record, how many hits have you gotten on the pictures you took at the Muslin Solidarity rally?

For the record, there are 46 pictures in the album and to date there have been almost 44,000 hits on the pictures (311 this week-still quite an interest in those photos)!

Good morning bump! Please spread the word to friends and neighbors about the FREEDOM RALLY. The war on terror and defense of our nation is still ongoing and we need to show that we still SUPPORT OUR TROOPS.

I'm not aware of anything like you describe. People do place memorials on roadsides where fatal accidents have occurred, but I don't know of any involving Freepers.

My pleasure, kristinn. Spreading the word about your awesome rally is the least I can do.

Good timing. ANSWER'S in town, right? A few good Freepers standing up to the unwashed mob is a sight to inspire a generation. (^;

Thank you!

Can't wait to collect those hugs in person! Thank you for finding your checkbook -- I'll be dropping by the Post Office often this week.

The DC Chapter appreciates all the donations of time, money and all other assistance we receive to help us organize rallies for the troops.
