I was impressed by Maria's strength during this period of time. She defended her husband, but she didn't become a shrew to do it. Reflect back on Hillary's actions in defense of her husband. Everything was everyone else's fault. She got ugly, her husband got nasty and his staff got nastier. Now think of how the Schwarzenegger's handled their situation. Maria is a class act. Arnold seems sincere in his devotion to living up to the trust put in him. Let's hope it works out for the best.

I thought Arnold's speech was very good .... had a theme of uniting and of healing the divisions that have come out of this recall election.

It was really strange seeing all those people who are Shrivers by name but obviously members of the Kennedy clan cheering so vigorously for a Republican.

Three years ago there was talk on FR of a sea change across the country and then the focus all changed after 9/11 .... maybe tonight we are seeing small hints of that sea change back in evidence.

I agree with you that Maria is a class act. I have always liked and admired her; never more so than now. My husband commented last night about how painful it must have been for her to see the Democrat Party try to destroy her husband. Maybe it's time for some soul searching. If any of the Kennedys do it, it would probably be her.
