(CNSNews.com) - A conservative, pro-family group is putting a positive spin on the election of liberal Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger. "The election of Arnold Schwarzenegger is not a rejection of pro-life, pro-family values," said Randy Thomasson, executive director of the Campaign for California Families. "This was about saying 'no' to a corrupt governor and saying 'yes' to a Hollywood celebrity who pledged to clean up Sacramento," he said in a statement. Thomasson noted that Republicans voted for Arnold because they saw him as the one who could defeat Democrat Gray Davis. Said Thomasson, "Pro-family citizens will be watching Governor Schwarzenegger very closely so that he doesn't undermine marriage, parental rights and religious freedom, or push abortion and the homosexual agenda like Gray Davis did. Arnold can't afford to sign immoral legislation and lose the support of pro-family voters in 2006," Thomasson warned.

It'd be nice to to read a headline like
SMART, Winsome Conservative Group to Schwarzenegger:
Congratulations! We Want to Keep Working With You
But I guess so many were scoffing at the idea of getting a seat at the table, they have none to take.
Thankfully, some still do.

With just a touch of diplomacy, these people could be helping Ahnuld decide who he wanted in his cabinet and who he would endorse for the senate against Biohazard Boxer. These are the same type of conservatives who in Virginia helped Democrat Chuck Robb get reelected even after he was caught snorting nose candy off the boobs of a former Ms. Virginia.

Ah the ultimatum support groups. How refreshing.
I'd appreciate it if they would wait for something to come up before going after the guy. If there's a legislative issue that comes up, lobby the guy. Otherwise treat him like a friend.

Conservative Group to Arnold: 'We'll Be Watching You' I'm still assuming the following:
Arnold To Conservatives: "To Me You Are STILL 'Right-Wing Crazies' Who Are Irrelevant -- Who Cares If You're Watching Me"
To: F16Fighter
"Arnold To Conservatives: "To Me You Are STILL 'Right-Wing Crazies' Who Are Irrelevant -- Who Cares If You're Watching Me"
These guys bet on the wrong horse, and *now* they think they can throw their weight around, LOL.
As for the above remark, *Some*, but not all who call themselves "Conservative" truly are "STILL 'Right-Wing Crazies' Who Are Irrelevant -- and Who Cares If You're Watching"
To: John Beresford Tipton
"These guys bet on the wrong horse, and *now* they think they can throw their weight around, LOL."I beg to differ. They still represent a passionate constituency who will act as a 'fail-safe' to remind Arnold of the traditional core platform of the GOP.
Only the truly naive would believe AS will not begin attempting eventually to steer the Party into some Kennedy-esque type policies.
Anything wrong with that?

The Gropinator isn't a conservative. He doesn't stand for conservative issues. The Gropinator is a RAT calling himself a Republican, even though he admitted publicly that he's ashamed of being a Republican. Time will tell on this farce of a groper. He's Clintoon only calling himself by another party.

I guess the McClintock victory party on Hale-Bopp is winding down, and some people are crabby from the awful hangovers.

Kennedy-esque policies? Are you referring to JFK's tax cuts?

My prediction is that Schwarzenegger will make several socially liberal gestures in order to suck up to pissed off Democrats and pave the way for his main agenda, which is conservative reform of fiscal matters. It makes sense as a political strategy, but the Robertsons and Dobsons of the world will scream bloody murder.
To: Callahan
It makes sense as a political strategy, but the Robertsons and Dobsons of the world will scream bloody murder. They can scream all they like, but unless they voted for him this time around, he's proven that he can win without them, and can therefore afford to ignore them in the future.

Further they are an embarrasment to the GOP and I hope GWB realizes this also.
He doesn't need the "likes of them" anywhere near the 2004 campaign. Last nights vote demonstrated that.
The GOP has changed...they need to find somewhere else to play.
