College Democrat Leader Uses Racial Slur Against LA GOP Candidate
Talon News / GOP USA ^ | Oct. 9, 2003 | Jeff Gannon

The President of the College Democrats of America sent a memo to its members Wednesday that focused on the ethnic heritage of Louisiana's Republican candidate for governor, Bobby Jindal.

In the message intended to rally college Democrats to a meeting in New Orleans, Ashley Bell, an African-American student at LSU Law School said, "Jindal is Arab American and the Republicans token attempt to mend bridges long burnt with the Arab American community."

Bell referred to the Republican candidate as "Bush's personal 'Do Boy' Bobby Jindal."

While praising the Democrat nominee, Lt. Governor Kathleen Blanco, Bell criticized his own party's "southern good ole boy network." He added that the selection of a white female demonstrated Democrats' "ability to nominate great candidates without bowing to tokenism."

The College Republican National Committee seized upon the offensive memo, issuing its own statement which says that the College Democrats have become "a laughing stock within the party of political correctness."

Eric Hoplin, Chairman of the CRNC pointed out that Jindal is the American-born son of Indian immigrants. Since India is not considered part of the Arab world, the College Republican group awarded the national Democrat organization the "Ferdinand Magellan Award for Geographic Genius."

Hoplin continued, "I would expect better judgment from the party of supposed political correctness."

"If criticizing Jindal's family heritage is the Democrats' only strategy, I look forward to his astounding victory and long political career," Hoplin added.

Bobby Jindal became the Republican nominee last week, bringing national attention to Louisiana's gubernatorial race. If victorious, he would become the country's highest-ranking elected official of Indian descent.

He would also become one of the youngest governors, having turned 32 in June. But he already has a long list of achievement. Most recently, he was an assistant secretary of the federal Department of Health and Human Services in the Bush administration.

Jindal is a Rhodes Scholar and former head of Louisiana's Department of Health and Hospitals as well as president of the University of Louisiana system.

The incumbent governor, Republican Mike Foster had endorsed Jindal before the runoff election.

Where is a click link to send a message to the President of the College Democrats? I, for one, would like to send him a note saying that, as a racist, he should resign from that position immediately.

I don't know if "racial slur" is the correct term to describe this; "ignorant" will do just fine.

The College Democrats of America probably think that Arnold Schwarzenegger is a Yobbo from down under.

I believe the term "boy" is heavily entrenched in racist language.

"Do boy" brings to mind a slave.

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

[As i mentioned, the B/C & JD! lists are going to float into and out of whack over the forseeable future, while I try to cobble a rig back together for myself. My apologies for any incovenience or misunderstandings in this time frame. New signups/removals may be flaky in this time-frame as well; please bear with me, and keep in mind you may have to FReepmail me more than once for me to get it done. Thanks again!]
