Sand Pebbles was about Warlord China in the 1920s, Great flick

Another great Brit movie worth the watch is "Culloden" made in 1964.

A really good movie if you can stand subtitles is the Polish film "Kanal" about the Warsaw uprising of 1944

Breaker Morant - Law of land warfare class film in Infantry Advanced Course 1982

I can't believe no one has mentioned "Zulu"
