Agreed. And the "pedestrian" space station/shuttle...Been there done that. As far as I've seen, there is no serious, scientific experimentation going on up there that justifies its escalating price tag. (Eg. the John Glenn "joyride"). Would rather we invest more money and imagination on missle defense.
