Go HERE and read. This was released in 1990(although the Church has spoken on this problem as early as 1966), and states clearly that men of homosexual proclivities should not be accepted into seminaries or ordained because it can cause intolerable temptation to them and can lead to scandal.

The problem with this directive is that it was DELIBERATELY suppressed by some highly placed bishops in the U.S. as soon as it was released.

Absolutely agree.

I've heard reporters firsthand dismiss the idea that these crimes are homosexually motivated. The extents to which the media will go to protect homosexuals from criticism is sickening.

IIRC, the term is "ephebophilia" (adults seeking out minors who have already
hit puberty).
I wish the Catholic church well and hope they fix this mess, even if I am not Catholic.
At the same time, the huge amount of $$$ the Catholic church has had to pay out
in settlements says this was a BIG deal.
No matter what the "spin" machine of part of the hierarchy wants to say.

I'm sure plenty of other institutions, religious or otherwise, are praying that
their "dirty little secrets" never get the exposure the Catholic church has gotten.
