North Korea threatens 'arms not words' against Japan (for setting up missile defence system)

North Korea says "arms, not words" were necessary for dealing with Japan's attempt to set up a missile defence system.
The latest outburst comes just days after North Korea demanded Japan be excluded from the next round of six-nation talks into its nuclear weapons program.
"Japan's moves for military build-up and overseas expansion have gone to extremes and the threat of missile and re-invasion comes from Japan to the DPRK (North Korea)," the North's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said.
"Closely following Japan's reckless moves, the army and people of Korea recognize that they should approach Japan with arms not words."
Six-nation talks involving North and South Korea, the United States, Japan, China and Russia ended inconclusively in Beijing in August but with an agreement to meet again.
But North Korea has upped its rhetoric since then, saying it has produced enough weapons-grade plutonium for six atomic bombs.
On Tuesday it called Washington's idea of a multilateral non-aggression guarantee an "empty piece of paper".
Analysts, however, see North Korea's recent statements as an attempt to bolster its hand ahead of a new round of talks, expected before the end of the year.
Japan's Foreign Ministry has said it rejects North Korea's demands to exclude it from talks, calling the nuclear threat an international, not bilateral problem.
Japan's Defense Agency said in August it would request 142 billion yen in next year's budget to buy sea-based SM-3 missiles and land-based PAC-3 systems to protect major cities and other strategic areas from incoming ballistic missile attacks.

Funny ...given Japan's many many nuclear electrical generating plants
operating for all these years...
that they dont have nuclear weapons.....or a nuke missle program
Yet the first thing commies and muslim terror sponser nations want
Is fissionable material...for making weapons...and a missle program
giving always giving lip service to the need for electricity for their livlihoods
It says a lot about the intentions of the Japanese vs the marxists and their islamo-facists bretheren imo

...the army and people of Korea recognize that they should approach Japan with arms not words." Wrong words to use. Japan probably now realizes that re-arming is the most prudent action.

FWIW, the Japanese have had the US made Nike-Hercules Air Defense System for years. Though obsolete against a missile attack, the Japanese have historically had air defense. The accusation that defensive weapons are destabilizing, is an argument of the weak, that is weak.

There is only one possible solution to the North Korean problem. The "government" there consists of lying, thieving, murdering, psychotic thugs, to put no fine point on it. There is nothing wrong with "negotiating" as long as it is well understood by the US that NK will not abide by any agreements that are reached, and therefore that is merely something to do while waiting to do something useful.
In the long run, preferably measured in months rather than years, the NK "government" must fall, and the rag-tag remnants of NK need to be reunited with South Korea. This must happen as fast as possible. And must be done by the least bloody means. The simplest method would be to use about 1% of the financial cost of a new war with NK to bribe its key generals into a military overthrow of Kim Il Jong, as I wrote almost six months ago.
Any "solution" other than overthrow of the current "government" of NK is at best, no solution at all, and at worst, allowing a situation that will fester until nuclear weapons are used against us or our allies -- in which case we will use nuclear weapons in return.

Someone said that based on the plants they have now, Japan could become a nuclear power in a few weeks. All it would take is the will to go ahead.

"Any "solution" other than overthrow of the current "government" of NK is at best, no solution at all, and at worst, allowing a situation that will fester until nuclear weapons are used against us or our allies -- in which case we will use nuclear weapons in return." When they brazenly announced that they were no longer complying with "treaties" against development of nukes, removed cameras and reactivated the nuclear sites, those locations should have been reduced to dust no more than 24 hours later. The hidden ones a bit later, I guess.
