I clicked on the two "critiques" of the Catechism of the Catholic Church on this site, one of which was by the SSPX and the other from the Abbe de Nantes. Apparently the Catechism is full of heretical teachings, the Pope is a heretic, Vatican II Council full of heretical teachings, and all Catholics who don't agree are "Neo-Catholics". Give me a break! I am as concerned about orthodoxy in the Church as anyone. I value Tradition and tradition prior to Vatican II and desire more reverence in the liturgy. But this is just ridiculous. Perhaps the Catechism and the Vatican II documents could be criticized for their sometimes vague and mushy style of writing, but neither are heretical, or overturn Scripture or Tradition or the deposit if faith. The Catechism is in fact an effort to shore up orthodox teaching and belief in the Church. To just trash the Pope and the Council and call people names rather than working within the Church to restore sound doctrine and worship is merely destructive. It is not constructive in the least and bears no fruit.

The website is crawling with goofiness, sede-vacantism, and trashing of John Paul II.

Oh, and there's this little jewel:

The Novus Ordo liturgy is the Mass of Cain, offering that "which earth has given and human hands have made." The traditional Mass offers the Divine Victim, the Lamb of God, to the Father..

I'm sure I'll find some anti-semitism, masked as "anti-Judaism" in here shortly.

Found it.

Here's a link, given in one of the "Miscellaneous Writings and Books" on "Jewish-Catholic Relations."

It's The Jewish Tribal Review.

Nice little site you guys frequent here.

Who would have imagined you'd find a little anti-semitism linked to (but disavowed) on a trad website?

Are you talking about something posted on the site, or links? People can have links to all sorts of places.

Would you bet your soul on that? The catechism claims that Muslims and Christians beleive in the same God, this is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, Whom the Mohammedans do not know. And it is heresy against the doctrine of the Divinity of Christ the King. You need only read some older catechism, such as the Catechism of Trent, to recognize that this new-age 'catechism' is dangerous to the Catholic faith.

841 The Church's relationship with Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day". (Pope JPII, page 223 - New Catechism of the Catholic Church).

"(Muslims) are the enemy of the Catholic faith"

Pope St. Pius V, March 5, 1571, Apostolic Constitution Salvatoris Domini

Where is all this "destruction" by traditionalists you speak about, other than in your own mind? The return to othodoxy has to begin somewhere, and people writing their thoughts and feelings about the devisive and destructive forces of Vatican II and the powers that perpetuate its U-turn from orthodoxy is where it must begin.

Words without passion are empty, devoid of life and spirit, just like the silly, ambiguous ramblings of the post Vatican II heirarchy and Churchmen ring so hollow. The greatest "destruction" I have ever witnessed in my entire life has been the destruction of the traditions and the reputation of Catholic Church by the 'spirit of Vatican II' and its fruits. And I do mean FRUITS.
