You're too young to remember this prayer. Even in the pre-Vatican II days, people were streaming out the doors while the priest dashed through the prayer.

Funny, at the Indult parish I attend occasionally, no on dashes out the door until the priest is out. And even then, many people stay on to pray for up to 20 minutes after mass. But then again, we're all into those *stupid* private devotions...

In comparison, at the much larger NO parish I usually attend, I'm normally one of five people left in the pews by the time the priest is completely down the aisle.

It may say nothing to you, but it says everything to me.

It's not pre-Vatican II, and people do stay on their knees, not only through the ending prayers, but also, ~gasp~ through the prayers after this for peace written by the Bishop and offered for the world, our troops, and families.

Anything wrong with that?
