"There are a disturbing number of people who feel that the [Republican] party is not fighting enough in areas like abortion and same-sex marriages."

I'm one.

"We [evangelicals] are offering people a different and better way to live than secular America offers."

Bump.

The pastor went back to the more traditional sermons and our church has grown. Mind you, it's still a small church (about 200 on any Sunday morning) but I have to admit I feel closer to God in that sort of service

Some of the churches here have began offering a traditional service and one more praise/evangelical on Sunday mornings. I know what you mean, but I do like some of the newer music.

I like some of the newer music, but I don't like the rock concert-type stuff. I think Billbears is partial to the more traditional setting. I'll take some live instruments along with the traditional choir.

One of the "mega-church" pastors I really like is Joel Osteen. I catch him every once in a while on the tele. He can deliver an excellent sermon!

I think every church has a purpose whether it be a "mega-church" on television, or a one-room sanctuary.
