The Bible, although it may be the word of God, is a compilation of many books written at different times by different people and anyone who's determined to go through and pull out passages to justify a viewpoint can probably do it. Kinda the way reporters will quote one line from an entire press conferenct to prove their own point, even if the gist of the entire conversation was in another direction.
