Some questions come to mind after reading this article.

After reading the article and your questions, two questions come to my mind:

• don't you think that your question would be better framed and asked by supplying a quote or two from the article?
• are you here (trolling?) to give Catholics a hard time?

I was referring mainly to the opening parapgraph.

The God presented to American Catholics today is the Rodney Dangerfield of gods: He gets no respect. Today, God hardly needs to be worshipped, since He's our buddy, our pal, our equal. No need to fear Him or stand in awe, no difficult obligations on our part -- we need only feel the warm fuzzies He showers upon us, until we die and He takes us instantly to Heaven.

What is the Church?

Is the Church made up of the saved?

Or does the Church provide the salvation?
