PAX TV TO PRESENT BROADCAST NETWORK TELEVISION PREMIERE, 'THE MAKING OF THE PASSION,' MEL GIBSON'S EPIC MOVIE
One Hour Special Premieres February 22nd 9 PM ET/PT Encores on February 24th 9 PM ET/PT
PAX TV will broadcast a one hour special in advance of the worldwide premiere of Mel Gibson's "The Passion of The Christ" on Sunday, February 22 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT and on Tuesday, February 24, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. "The Making of 'The Passion of The Christ'" is a behind-the scenes look at this bold motion picture, which is a vivid depiction of the last 12 hours in the life of Jesus Christ. Produced by Academy Award winning producer and director, Mel Gibson and Icon Productions, the film will be released into theaters on February 25, 2004.
"The Making of the Passion" will present never-before-seen footage of the actors and directors as they tackle the enormous task of bringing Gibson's "labor of love" to the big screen. It will feature on-set interviews of the cast and crew, as well as explore the driving forces behind the making of this remarkable film. Also featured is the story of how they assembled a crew to create a set complete with a temple, courtyard and palace that would best represent a centuries old Jerusalem.

***FYI***
ABC will also air a special interview with Mel on Monday, February 16th.
Mel Gibsons Passion
Actor/Filmmaker to Address Controversy Over New Film on ABCNEWS' Primetime
In an exclusive interview with ABCNEWS' Diane Sawyer on Primetime, actor and filmmaker Mel Gibson will discuss, for the first time on television, the controversy surrounding his new film, The Passion of the Christ.
Gibson's latest directorial effort, which chronicles the last 12 hours in the life of Jesus Christ, has sparked intense debate even before its release.
The interview will air during a special edition of Primetime on Monday, Feb. 16, from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET on the ABC television network.

Our church was given the opportunity to purchase 3000 tickets for an advance screening of the Passion two days before the general release. They will be going on sale on Sunday Morning. My guess is they will be sold out before the third service.

The reaction to this film, not yet released, has been astonishing. In a WorldNet Daily piece today,a Jewish rabbi basically pleaded with Christians to not go to the movie, as it will make Jews mad. Catholic bishops are at the best apathetic to Mel's dream, while many evangelical communities have embraced this Catholic film with open arms.
I get the feeling that in a few weeks after the release, there will be loud and vocal calls to ban this movie as "hate speech". I also get the feeling that The Passion will change all who see it, as it changed Micheal Savage.

And aren't they all going to feel a little foolish 2 weeks after it opens and there is not Jewish blood running in the streets.

From that article:
"The Jews will not accept Jesus as a Messiah... but why not as a sage?"
What sort of a sage would he be? One who lies, blasphemes, and sacriliges? If he were not the Messiah, he would be all these things. No, we have had enough of people who take snippets of the "Historical Jesus," and strip away the truth. We've had enough Mohammeds, Masons and Marxists for now. And the Jewish faith certainly does not need to be polluted in such a way, either. Better to keep the Jewish faith pure, until the Glory of the Olives comes.

,
as it changed Micheal Savage.Really? In what way?
I've haven't listened in awhile and although I don't always agree with his delivery, I believe he has the best handle on what is happening in and to America
I hope he got saved!

There is a review on his website. My father listens to M. Savage a lot, and Dad said that old Mike seemed to be a changed man. Savage talked that he would not be the same after seeing The Passion.
I guess we can pray, hopefully Savage will find his way back to God.

Have you seen Newsweek's article on the movie?! After you find your head and put it back on (because it will pop off like a champagne cork after you read the article) write to Newsweek (I did) and tell them what you think.
If I DID subscribe to Newsweek (and I don't) I'd cancel my subscription!

For me this evokes claims of the movie, and this aspect of my religion, being declared a Thought Crime by the Jewish/Catholic Left.
