I'm sorry, but I cannot and will not address you as a brother in Christ until and unless you cease membership from and renounce the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and profess aquiescence to the basic and most fundamental doctrines of the orthodox Christian faith as defined in the Apostle's Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the definition of the Council of Chalcedon.

Until such time you are my neighbor, not my brother, and will be treated accordingly.

(You have to admit, if you were willing to post to me in this way, it would go a long way toward the civility we need to have here.)

To do so would be tantamount to denying my Savior, for the Christ who is my Lord is not the same as the one you proclaim, nor is it the same as the one your religious institution proclaims.

Who do you think you are, that you should demand of me (oops, "exhort") that I should deny the express teachings of the Bible, of all Trinitarian Christendom in general, and of Orthodox Presbyterianism in particular -- by blaspheming the Holy Trinity and calling a Mormon a "brother in Christ" when they simply are not?

If you told me that I should repent of Presbyterian Christianity and become a Mormon, I could at least respect that as a forthright statement of opinion on your part.

But to insist of me, that while yet remaining a Presbyterian, I should be unfaithful to the Bible and Christianity and Presbyterianism by granting a False Religion the respect I would extend to Lutheranism or Baptistry or some other such Valid Trinitarian Christian faith tradition.... Egads!! Tell me to repent and become a Mormon if you must, but don't think you have any right to Dictate the Terms of my own Presbyterian Christianity to me for so long as I am still faithful to her. How am I supposed to respond to such imperious arrogance on your part?

Well, I'll tell you how I'm gonna respond. In keeping with the Moderator's wishes that there should not be "flame wars" between Mormons and Calvinist, I offered you the following Gentleman's Agreement in #354:

If White Mountain would like to extend me a Gentleman's Agreement never to flag me to any of his posts, I shall be happy to never flag him to any of mine. What say you, White Mountain? With the Religion Mod as our witness?

• Since I have found your Posts to be devoid of anything interesting or valuable to me, you may be confidently assured that I shall feel no temptation to initiate discussions with you.

• And, if you have any decency, civility, and respect for my wishes to spend my time discussing theology with people whose Posts are interesting and valuable to me, I should very much appreciate it if you did not insist on initiating any discussions with me.

• And, if neither of us is Posting to the other at all, there's no likelihood of any "flame war" between us. The Moderator's "flame war" problem is thus solved!!
