A Catholic Church investigator will interview people claiming to have information about a retired priest in Wilmington whom the board cleared last week of decades-old sex abuse allegations.

The Rev. Louis E. Douglas moved to Wilmington in 1996 after retiring from the Albany, N.Y., diocese three years earlier.

Preusser said she has yet to hear directly from the Albany diocese about when and where she will be interviewed. She said she had no evidence about Douglas' actions other than her communication with the bishop. The Albany diocese will decide after interviews with the three whether to reopen its investigation, said spokesman Kenneth Goldfarb.

Don't need a crystal ball to predict which way this investigation is headed. Hubbard has denied that he ever said what Preuser recalls him saying. She has "no evidence", other than her memory. Case open and shut.

Eventually the teflon shield surrounding Hubbard will be scratched enough for something to stick. Until then, pray - pray for the bishop, the priests and especially the catholics in the Albany diocese. Pray especially for those catholics who have left the church, as a result of the heterodoxy in this diocese.

Wasn't this the week that Fr. Minkler's autopsy results were to be released? I've checked the news each day but, so far, nothing.

It hard to believe that Hubbard has been in office nearly 30 years and has made no misteps. Something is bound to surface.
