Update on my daughter Elizabeth
Jeff Chandler
Posted on 04/02/2004 9:42:17 PM PST by Jeff Chandler
Elizabeth is getting stronger every day. Today she took short walks around the pediatric ward. Tomorrow her NG tube will be clamped off, and if she can go without it for a day without nausea, it will be removed Sunday and she can start taking clear liquids. Our baby girl is recovering from her surgery.
I also have some bad news. My mother-in-law, Theresa, who lives with my father-in-law in an apartment attached to our home, fell down this morning and hurt her back. She didn't break any bones, but will require weeks of rehabilitation. She is 78 years old, and was recovering from a broken hip and a stroke suffered over the last year.
Theresa is a holy, prayerful women, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and now great-grandmother. She cared for five children and her sister-in-law, (a child at the time), while her husband pulled tours of duty in the army, two in Korea, and two in Vietnam.
I know I've been asking for a lot of prayers from you prayer warriors, but if you can add her to your intentions, she will surely benefit.
With all the suffering going on around me, I feel guilty indulging in selfish sentiments, but I sure could use a vacation!

Prayers for everyone in this time of trials. I'm happy your daughter is feeling better.

no for nuthin' - but sometimes this comes across as a little crass - especially on threads where the topic is a death or critical illness of a loved one.
IMO, of course - it's your playground

Thanksgiving prayers for Elizabeth's recovery as well as her continued march to good health. Easter mass at home! Prayers also sent for your mother-in-law Theresa's speedy return to good health.
Jeff, you and your family must be doing something very right for the enemy to be attacking you all this fiercely. I'm honored to be praying for you.

First, praise God that Elizabeth is recovering so well, and prayers that she will be completely healed. May God heal Theresa also. And prayers going up that somehow you and wife can have a wonderful vacation soon!:)

We will pray for Theresa especially. At First Saturday Mass and devotions today, I asked Father to offer the Holy Sacrifice for Elizabeth which he did. We will continue to pray for you, Jeff, and for Elizabeth, Theresa, and all in your family.
