Without prejudice to any other area of catechesis—in fact, to enhance them all—let us return in a renewed way to a pedagogy of the basic doctrines of the faith.

It may be just that simple - a return to basics.

This is a big problem. First, we need all those who would teach to be on the same page. Anyway, parents needs to be the chief catechists.

Well, good catechism is certainly a must. You do also need:

1) reverent celebration of the Mass

2) solid orthodox priests

3) good Catholic schools and colleges

4) orthodox, confident bishops who back up all of these

New Jersey: In New Jersey, as in many national polls, President Bush and Sen. John Kerry are running closely, with Bush getting 40% of the vote and Kerry 41% according to a new Fairleigh Dickinson University Poll. When 'leaners' are included, Kerry leads Bush within the poll's margin of error by 48 to 47%. But when Ralph Nader is also included in the question, the 5% he draws is enough to put Kerry behind Bush by 44% to 48%."

New Jersey well fall to Bush soon. Bush is within the margin in MD.

It would be a welcome change. I can hear some of our Rel Ed teachers - complaining. Imagine my shock when, recently at a meeting with some of the teachers, I found that many of them had read DaVinci Code, and one found it to be an eye opener that 'confirmed some of her suspicions' and earlier teachings. She was irritated when I pointed out a few of the heretical things therein. And almost no one went to see the Passion. Too violent. I think we would lose a bunch of these teachers. But that's better than perpetuating errors.
