I am. I'd bet that he didn't.I had the opportunity to speak to an insider about Bishop Olmstead. He is not a grandstander. That is not his way. He prefers to take care of things quietly, so I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he did attempt to take care of this out of the public eye.

There is also the issue of public scandal. By possibly confusing the Catholic Faithful about what the Church teaches regarding homosexual acts, there was a need for a public response by the bishop.
