I too am a conservative in a very conservative UMC. I am working with the finance chairman on a proposal to the administrative board on our apporaments. I am very much apposed to our support of some of the organizations listed in the apportments and would like to withold support. this is a starting place and all churches need to become involved in this process. I know it will be a struggle, as our church has always paid 100% of apportaments but i really have issue with one for sure. Do you have any thoughts? Thanks
You are able to designate.
Designate 100% of the money but to the areas that you agree with. Don't designate anything for the areas that you don't agree with.
