Geezer's point is that Anglicans should shut up and submit to Rome and the Magisterium. My Orthodox friends tell me to shut up and submit to their patriarch and Holy Tradition. They both to claim to be the One True Church. One of them must be wrong, so I'm hedging my bets and trusting that God can identify his faithful followers even among the semitic heretics. I believe He has that capability.

Nobody is telling me to shut up and submit to Frank Griswold or Rowan Williams. That's not the Anglican Way.

Of course they wield power, of course they misuse their pulpits, of course they must be brought to correction, but that's the work of the Anglican Communion. The historic episcopate is one of our instruments of unity and it is also one of our instruments of discipline. The majority of the bishops in our Communion see the practices of the ECUSA as sinful error and are working to cleanse the Church of it.

I am most cordial to my Catholic friends and grateful for what they've shared to me about their beliefs and practices. It has strengthened my faith and understanding.

But I consider "all the sodomy started when Henry VIII went his own way" to be little more than a cheap shot.

Now don't you Catholics have some beating up on each other to do? :-)

Actually, it's commonly understood that the Missouri Synod of the Lutheran is the One True Church.

I doubt you would know how to shut up if somebody did tell you to.
If you were an orthodox priest in ecusa you would be told to shut up, tow the line, or leave your church.
It's a fact, jack. Read the news; read history. Anglican inclusiveness has obviously given way to political correctness.
