I see our current problems very much in Old Testament terms. The story of the Jewish people as related in this part of the Bible is essentially one of their continual wandering from and coming back to God and His law. As punishment for their sins, they were periodically given over to marauding, barbaric pagans and attackers who inflicted all manner of indignities on them, drove them into exile and captivity and plundered their cities.
I see the current rise of radical Islam very much in these terms. A newly pagan and godless west which flouts God's laws, has been placed at the mercy of these invading barbarians. Nukes and bullets by themselves will not free us of this scourge, contrary to popular opinion on these boards.
Do we perhaps vainly believe that God will bestow upon us the gift of living in peace while we continue to terrorize the unborn? Can we beg God for his aid when our hands are covered in the blood of our brothers?
This is a spiritual issue and we will learn this lesson one way or another.
It all comes back to "obeying" GOD. We put up with the unthinkable, because of political correctness. It's time to speak up, and point out these facts... that there are punishments for our actions.
Even our forgiveness is prophesied, if we'll do what the Bible says we'll do.
This is where we are in time today (I think,... I could be wrong, though.) In Chapter 37 of Ezekiel we see the Resurrection.
