Paradoxically, I believe that SSPX, for instance has not stood and fought. It has placed itself in a position where it is outside the battlefield. Let me give you an example of what I mean. In America today, abortion is legal, pornography is rife and assaults against the family abound. A true crisis. One possible solution could be to leave this country, seek out an island or oasis...

Utter nonsense.

We may have sanctuary in our chapels from all of the devolution that is ruining the New Order masses and buildings (or what's left of them anyway) but there is no worldly benefit whatsoever and there is no "oasis" for us. It's quite the opposite in fact.

We get nothing but a rain of name calling, threats, attempted legalistic sanctions, heartache and condemnation from the episcopal, the hierarchy in Rome, the media and people in our circle of life such as this forum. Apparently you're becoming one of them.

Most of our priests live in total poverty. None of the ones I've met have cars, much less a gay cook or any valuable possessions worth mentioning for that matter.

Some of us have to worship in hotel conference rooms because we're barred by Pharisaic types from the very buildings where Catholics worshiped exactly as we do, for the high crime of worshiping exactly as they did for the better part of two millennium.

Your thesis that we've somehow bailed out for greener pastures is beyond false. There are no greener pastures. Nor are there decent Catholic schools to send our kids, nor expensive picnics and events nor local resources for catechism etc. Many of the people in my church drive hundreds of miles round trip on Sunday just to attend mass.

All this being said I love every minute of it... I love the burning faith that changed the face of humanity and now understand why it did so. It's changed totally changed my life.

There is no amount of money on earth that would cause me to go back to what caused me to lose my faith. Not only that, I will never assist them or donate to them again as long as I live. Not just on principal, but for very personal and recent experiences I've had. Everyone has a line, they've found mine.

"Damn them all to hell" seems to be the SSPX position and it is not appropriate here.

I don't know anyone who holds such a position, or anyone who anyone really cares whether or not you think their position is appropriate.
