They are celebrating the works of the devil, and what he has done for them.

How do you know, did you attend?  By simply tuning in occassionally to a local news broadcast you'll see a heckuva lot more sexually disordered perverts than bank robbers.  The reality to what you see on television is a ripple effect on decent human beings, and there are many hurt people as a result [sin always does that, we know].  I believe that turning to God through your Faith is the only means to healing, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's what's being celebrated.

If you'd like to pick a post of mine to opine [further], you'll see my perspective here, here, or here.

I think the difference between our positions on this boils down to whether on not we're willing to give Bishop Howard Hubbard the benefit of the doubt.

AB, *once again* you're right.  :)  I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I'm tired of the negative views and opinions (I'm guilty of 'sharing' them), and enjoy a freedom that comes from embracing a positive perspective now and then.
Pax.

"I believe the Church has a responsibility to all its members. . . . I don’t think gays or anybody else should be excluded from the ministry. Indeed, I think we have a responsibility to reach out to them with sensitivity and compassion but at the same time I also believe that we have to proclaim the Gospel message as we understand it."

I thought it obvious my post was just a joke. Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed?

Gays at Notre Dame dunno bornacatholic, but apparently, YOUR FAMILY better not seek solace from within the Catholic Faith (based upon what I see in this thread).

I always turn to the Catholic Church for solace. Al you have to do is check my posts for evidence of that.

And, I am certainly not without empathy for those with a disordered appetite (seing as how I have innumerable weaknesses myswlf).

Here is something I posted previously.

I think the Catechism is on the money and I am grateful for the realistic approach the Vatican has taken. Homosexuality is something I, thanks be to God, don't have to deal with. As a heterosexual who is incredibly weak in virtually all of my passions, I feel a real sympathy for those who have a sexual attraction for others of the same sex. I would have been a miserable failure were i a homosexual and had to remain celibate. As it is, I am a miserable failure as a heterosexual trying to be chaste.

I like the balanced approach we have. Heterosexual acts are never permissible. We have to show compassion for those dealing with same sex attraction - especially in our sex-saturated society.

No, but apparently I sounded like I did!  Sorry.

That's two pings tonight where I can infer that I'm not being clear.  :(   Oh well, it's a good idea for me to s/off now anyway... much to do for pilgrimage tomorrow.

Pax et bonum!
