I know that there are several saints named Nilus. The St. Nilus who defended St. John Chrysostom I believe is called "the Elder" -- and the Prophecy is his. St. Nilus of Sora is a great saint of the Russian Church as I recall and a great writer.
I believe there may be some conflating of their lives in the hagiographies.
