Okay, now that I have vented.... this is just basic. It would be normal for Skylstad to become the president of the USCCB -- the status quo would dictate that.
There is marginally good news here in that Skylstad was elected by only 52%.

I am not pleased, George was a distant second too. At least this means George will one day rise to being the Preident of the USCCB, he is pretty Orthodox. Who knows, maybe he'll be able to overshadow Skylstad. Only Levada and Skylstad struck me as "liberal" candidates for the office. Dolan, Rigali, Wuerl, Chaput were other nominees.
