Yep, the truly unforgivable sin is to not be under the pope.

Since this is NOT what Rome says now, and JPII has statements as such, where is the true Church now?

When its not "Re-formulated" at all, it means exactly what it says - There is No Salvation outside the Church.

What does Rome say now? If Rome contradicts the infallible teaching of the Perennial Magisterium, then Rome is wrong - right?
