MM: A Thank You for posting the article and starting this thread - BUMP.

Bishop Gracida has it all presented nice and clear. A step-by-step plan.
This could be a great help to many bishops who need something where it is all spelled out for them from a fellow bishop.
If even one bishop would implement this Twelve Step Program, all would benefit.

We all ought to respectfully send a copy of the article to our bishops.
If he is good then he will implement the Program.
If he is not good then of course he will do nothing, which is of course why Prayerful Public Action is necessary.

Let us restore our culture with Catholic action one bishop at a time.

Step 1: Acknowledge that they are powerless over their illness.
Step 2: Submit their lives to their higher power.
...

Well, it'd be a start...

Brilliant.

Should be required reading for all Catholic Clergy and catechists. Should be implemented by all Catholic Bishops NOW, before another election cycle is upon us.

What a powerful message.

And not surprising. Had spoken to a woman just yesterday who had gone to mass in that diocese recently and we agreed that the churches and liturgies were refreshingly orthodox.

In my recently published essay, “The Arian Heresy Revisited,” I tried to show that the heresy of the Fourth Century which denied the divinity of Christ, is the mirror-image of our modern heresy which denies the sanctity of the human person redeemed by His Incarnation, Passion, Death and Resurrection.

Ohh, That is good. I must find this. Catholics who support abortion or are afraid of dealing with the issue and run to the "pro-choice" argument for, perhaps, ulterior motives, even if in theory they profess belief in the Divinity of Christ, functionally I don't see how they can. Perhaps they do not ponder Him in their hearts. Or maybe their real sin is one against Hope.

The fact that this Bishop is Ordinary of the Diocese of CORPUS CHRISTI makes his statement all the more powerful in a symbolic way. May he be granted the Grace, through the Body of Christ in the Holy Eucharist, to lead his brother Bishops in fulfilling their vocations as successors to the Apostles, particularly on this issue.

Anybody know what exactly "Bishop Emeritus" means?
